A Heartwarming Story of a Therapy Dog named Loki Bringing Joy to a Children’s Hospital

Loki was not your ordinary Alaskan Malamute. He was a therapy dog trained to bring joy and comfort to people in need. His job was to make people smile and forget their worries even for just a few minutes. Loki had a special talent that enabled him to feel the emotions of those around him and respond with the appropriate behavior.

One day, Loki received a call from his trainer. He was told that he had a new assignment: to bring joy to children at a local hospital in Cairo, Egypt. Loki was excited and eager to start his new job.

Loki’s First Day at the Children’s Hospital

As soon as Loki arrived at the children’s hospital, he sensed a different atmosphere. The air was thick with sadness and despair. He saw children in hospital beds, some with casts on their arms or legs, some with tubes in their noses and mouths. He knew he had a big job to do.

Loki’s trainer guided him to the children’s ward, where he was received by some nurses who were happy to see him. He wagged his tail and greeted everyone with a friendly smile. He was then introduced to some children who were excited to see a dog that was larger than what they were used to.

One of the children was a little girl named Maya. She was shy and scared at first but when Loki approached her and licked her hand, she smiled and giggled. Her mother who had been sitting next to her bed started crying. She was grateful for the joy she saw in her daughter’s eyes.

Loki’s New Friends and Foes at the Hospital

Loki enjoyed his job at the children’s hospital. He loved the attention and the affection he received from the children, nurses, and doctors. However, he also faced some challenges from some dogs at the hospital who were not as friendly as he was.

One day, Loki met two dogs, a German Shepherd named Max and a Rottweiler named Bella. Unlike Loki, Max and Bella were police dogs who worked with the local police department. They were not used to being friendly to strangers, especially dogs they had not met before.

At first, Max and Bella growled at Loki and showed their teeth. But Loki, being a trained therapy dog, remained calm and respectful. He approached them slowly, wagging his tail and showing a friendly gesture. It was not long before Max and Bella realized that Loki was not a threat. They sniffed him, licked his face and even ran around the hospital yard with him, making everyone laugh.

Loki Leaves a Lasting Impression

Loki soon became a regular visitor to the children’s hospital. He made his rounds every week, visiting the children’s ward, the emergency room and even the operating room. He brought smiles to the children’s faces, comfort to their aching bodies and hope to their families. He became known as the dog who had brought joy and love to the hospital.

On his last day, the children’s ward was decorated with balloons and posters of Loki. Every child and nurse wanted to take a picture with him. Even Max and Bella came to say goodbye, wagging their tails and barking happily.

As Loki left the hospital, he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. He knew that he had made a difference in the lives of those children and their families. He knew that his job had been meaningful.
